Background: The caldesmon protein is involved in contraction, cell movement, shape change, exocytosis and endocytosis. It is an actin interacting and calmodulin binding protein found in smooth muscle and other cell types. Caldesmon occurs in both a high molecular weight （120-150 kDa） and a low molecular weight （61-70 kDa） form, depending on the tissue in which it is located. Caldesmon plays a major role in the regulation of smooth muscle and non-muscle contractile events.

Storage: Store at -20 ºC for one year. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. The lyophilized antibody is stable at room temperature for at least one month and for greater than a year when kept at -20ºC. When reconstituted in sterile pH 7.4 0.01M PBS or diluent of antibody, the antibody is stable for at least two weeks at 2-4 ºC.
