生物通報(bào)道：來(lái)自美國(guó)自然歷史卡內(nèi)基博物館，中國(guó)地質(zhì)*地質(zhì)研究所等處的研究人員在Nature雜志（8月26日）上發(fā)表題為“A Jurassic eutherian mammal and divergence of marsupials and placentals”的文章，介紹了迄今為止發(fā)現(xiàn)的人類zui古老的“曾祖母”——中華侏羅獸。

文章的通訊作者是美國(guó)自然歷史卡內(nèi)基博物館古脊椎動(dòng)物分部的館長(zhǎng)羅哲西博士，其早年畢業(yè)于南京大學(xué)，現(xiàn)為南京大學(xué)的客座教授，參予這一研究的還包括中國(guó)地質(zhì)*的季強(qiáng)和袁崇喜博士、北京自然博物館的孟慶金博士。這一研究組曾發(fā)表多篇*雜志文章，解析古生物學(xué)研究進(jìn)展。比如07年曾在我國(guó)內(nèi)蒙古寧城道虎溝地區(qū)發(fā)現(xiàn)了一對(duì)保存完好的蜀獸科哺乳動(dòng)物化石，這一發(fā)現(xiàn)以確鑿的證據(jù)證明該地區(qū)產(chǎn)有蠑螈、真葉肢介、翼龍等化石的地層時(shí)代為中侏羅世。

據(jù)報(bào)道，中華侏羅獸化石2009年發(fā)現(xiàn)于中國(guó)遼寧建昌縣玲瓏塔地區(qū)，地質(zhì)年代距今1.6億年，是目前已知zui古老的真獸類（有胎盤類）哺乳動(dòng)物化石記錄。此前這一紀(jì)錄為中國(guó)遼寧省凌源市發(fā)現(xiàn)的攀援始祖獸保持，其地質(zhì)年代距今約1.25億年。
 
中國(guó)地質(zhì)*地質(zhì)研究所季強(qiáng)博士在當(dāng)天北京自然博物館舉行的新聞發(fā)布會(huì)上介紹說(shuō)，目前地球上的哺乳動(dòng)物超過(guò)90%為有胎盤類，包括人類在內(nèi)的靈長(zhǎng)類動(dòng)物也是有胎盤類哺乳動(dòng)物，因此中華侏羅獸可謂是人類已知zui原始的“老祖宗”。
 
中華侏羅獸保存有完整的前肢和手部骨骼，表明其具有攀爬能力，這些適應(yīng)性特征會(huì)幫助它在恐龍和其他脊椎動(dòng)物統(tǒng)治的侏羅紀(jì)生態(tài)環(huán)境中生存下來(lái)。它的牙齒特征表明其為食蟲類哺乳動(dòng)物，估計(jì)體重約13克。
 
中華侏羅獸的發(fā)現(xiàn)把真獸類（有胎盤類）哺乳動(dòng)物化石記錄的時(shí)間大大提前，*了早期哺乳動(dòng)物演化的化石記錄間隔，并與DNA研究結(jié)果吻合，也為哺乳動(dòng)物演化歷史建立了以化石為標(biāo)準(zhǔn)點(diǎn)的新里程碑。

A Jurassic eutherian mammal and divergence of marsupials and placentals
 
Placentals are the most abundant mammals that have diversified into every niche for vertebrates and dominated the world’s terrestrial biotas in the Cenozoic. A critical event in mammalian history is the divergence of eutherians, the clade inclusive of all living placentals, from the metatherian–marsupial clade1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. Here we report the discovery of a new eutherian of 160 Myr from the Jurassic of China, which extends the first appearance of the eutherian–placental clade by about 35 Myr from the previous record, reducing and resolving a discrepancy between the previous fossil record and the molecular estimate for the placental–marsupial divergence9, 10, 11, 12, 13. This mammal has scansorial forelimb features, and provides the ancestral condition for dental and other anatomical features of eutherians.
